Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Release Delayed to February 13, 2024
Don’t Nod and Focus Entertainment have recently announced that the highly anticipated game, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, will be delayed and will now be released on February 13, 2024. Originally scheduled for a November 7, 2023 launch, the decision to postpone the release was made by Don’t Nod CEO Oskar Guilbert and Focus Entertainment managing director John Bert in order to avoid clashing with the heavy release schedule during the upcoming months.
In a joint statement, Guilbert and Bert explained their reasoning behind the delay, stating, “We have decided to postpone the release of this new franchise by three months, as the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year. We are convinced that a commercial release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden during a less saturated period will give it the attention it deserves.” [source]
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is not the only game that has been delayed from the Fall 2023 season for similar reasons. THQ Nordic recently announced that the Alone in the Dark remake, originally set to release on October 25, 2023, will now be released on January 16, 2024, in order to avoid competition with games like Alan Wake 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The month of November 2023 is packed with highly anticipated game releases, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Like a Dragon Gaiden, Persona 5 Tactica, Super Mario RPG remake, The Talos Principle 2, Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn DLC, and WarioWare: Move It! [source]
With the new release date set for February 2024, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will now have to compete with other major releases such as Persona 3 Reload, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Mario vs Donkey Kong, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Helldivers 2. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
